Starting dose from 4 – 48mg / day, can be used in single or divided doses.

  • Rheumatoid arthritis: The starting dose is 4-6mg / day; use 16 – 32mg / day in acute attacks, then reduce dose quickly.
  • Scleroderma disease: Take 160mg / day for 1 week. After that, the dose is reduced to 64mg / time, once every 2 days for 1 month.
  • Acute asthma attack: Medrol treatment with a dose of 32 – 48mg / day, the duration of treatment within 5 days. Once the acute attack has passed, drastically reduce the dose.
  • For cases of severe rheumatism: Take the drug 0.8mg / kg / day. Divided into small doses, then used a single dose for daily use.
  • Having primary nephrotic syndrome: The starting dose is 0.8 – 1.6mg / kg for 6 weeks. Then, reduce the dose and continue treatment for about 6-8 weeks.
  • In case of chronic ulcerative colitis: If mild, hold 80mg / day, during severe exacerbations, take Medrol 8 – 24mg / day.
  • Having sarcoid: Take 0.8mg / kg / day to help relieve the disease. Then use with a low maintenance dose of 8mg / day.
  • Immune hemolytic anemia: Dosage 64mg / day for 3 days. A course dose lasts about 6-8 weeks.

For children:

  • Impaired adrenal cortex: Use 0.177mg / kg, divided into 3 doses.
  • Treatment of other diseases: 0.417 – 1.67mg / kg, divided into 3-4 times.

5. How to take Medrol
